Seriously, I lose. I completely forgot my mom's birthday, which was yesterday. And I mean completely -- no card, no call, nothing. I got a rather stinging email from my baby brother (the only one who still lives at home) saying, basically, that Mom was really upset. Shit. How, exactly, can I go about fixing this? She's not the flowers type of person, and I've always been shit at picking out birthday gifts for her; for her and Dad I usually just send a card. Damn, damn, damn. I totally could have called, too; it's not like I was doing anything earth-shatteringly important.

In other news, the phone company sucks even more. There is apparently still "data on the line", despite my DSL having been turned off a week ago, and so they can't turn off my DSL. Note that I still have no DSL at home. ::headdesk:: It's been "escalated" to some other department and will be resolved "2 to 4 business days" from yesterday, meaning as late as Monday. And I then have to wait another four or five business days after that for the name change to go through. I HATE THE PHONE COMPANY.

Since I have no internet at home (even the unsecured network I was pirating off of has dried up), I have no way to get last night's Project Runway. Can anybody upload it to YSI, SendSpace, or the like? Or maybe point me in the direction of a download community? I know you're not supposed to advertise these things, but you can email me privately, and me begging for it isn't exactly advertising. I can download stuff at work and bring it home, but I need to find a place to download from, and it can't be torrents -- I can't put BitTorrent on this computer. Taken care of! I ♥ my flist :)

As if to balance out the crappiness of my forgetting my mom's birthday and my woes with the phone company, my friend E (not FRE, another E) got the job she was out here to interview for! Which means she's moving here, and moving in with me! My roommat search is over, and it was exactly the result I wanted, if fraught with a few more trials and tribulations than I'd hoped.

Now to compile a list of logistical things to think about. Whee!
