Bucky Covington - "Fat Bottomed Girls" - other than the rasp in his voice, he doesn't have anything going for him. He's clinging to the pitch by the skin of his teeth and he has no real musicality. Blah blah blah song in a barcakes. Simon's right -- it's bigger than he is. Seacrest, I think, wants to kill Bucky. He *repeated the thing*. You only do that when you're in a comedy! A bad one! ::eyeroll::
Ace Young - "We Will Rock You" - Ace is absolutely personality-free. It's kind of amazing. Ahahahahah, they couldn't stand him. I think he's trying for something that he's REALLY not getting, which is -- wait, there it is. You knew the falsetto had to make an appearance. Wow, Randy hated it. Paula tries to sugar-coat something but fails short of anything even marginally helpful. Simon... geez. Wow. I mean, I agree with him, but. Wow.
Kellie Pickler - "Bohemian Rhapsody" - okay, I never thought I'd say this, but the arrangement kind of works. I think her execution sucks, and the low parts are just completely beyond her, but. I have to give props to whomever wrote the arrangement. Tongue bath from the judges, of course. "I don't have an accent!" Oy. This is. Chill, Pickler. Nobody cares anymore.
Chris Daughtry - "Innuendo" - cut it out with the strobes, producers, mmkay? Also, why is Chris wearing eyeliner? Are you trying to channel Freddie, Chris? Because if so, you're gonna fail miserably. Huh. So, yeah, I've never heard that song before. But he seems to have done a good job? Randy goes for the fakeout and scares Chris and Paula. Heh. Paula is completely nuts. Simon's got a spot-on criticism about the song, though. ...and then Randy completely reverses everything he's said all season and says the song doesn't matter. What. The. Fuck.
Katharine McPhee - "Who Wants To Live Forever" - Highlander? Really? The fact that she changed songs is showing a lot -- as much as I love her, she's kind of off her game. I wonder if Simon is going to change his mind like he did a couple weeks ago? When he hears it back, he'll know something's going on.
Elliot Yamin - "Somebody To Love" - okay, the ending was kind of weird (what was he kicking?), but this was FANTASTIC. I less than three him, I really do, even if he looks like Mr. Tumnus.
Taylor Hicks - "Crazy Little Thing Called Love" - is it just me, or does he actually sound disappointed by the whole dancing thing? Blah, blah, blah, crazy Taylorcakes. God, I hate it when he does that. WORD, Simon. "I thought it was ridiculous." PLEASE stop the inter-judge fighting. Seriously.
Paris Bennett - "The Show Must Go On" - WHAT is she WEARING?! Her wig sucks, too. Okay, *I* liked that, but I don't know that the judges will. Randy is kind of "WTF?" and Paula loved it, but what about Simon? ... Simon, "it was all a little weird" is not an answer.
