Are they *burning* John's body? And of course the inevitable question: "did he say anything to you?" "No." I SMELL A PLOT DEVICE.
MECHANIC!PORN. Who's writing it?
"We can cry and maybe even slow-dance." Oh, Dean's Sarcasm. ♥
The very idea of Dean driving a minivan has me on the FLOOR with laughter, people. Nothing like a little B&E. "Please, God, let that be a rifle." Hee. N'awww, Dean got beat up by a girl! Don't try to lie to a momma, Dean; she knows you're not okay.
...what. the. fuck. "All business up front, party in the back!" 0.o
WAIT WAIT WAIT. Is Dean discovering that maybe sex is not always the answer? FILM AT ELEVEN. HA, she totally smoked you, Dean. "Side one of Zeppelin IV," huh? Hee.
See, Dean? Sam's fear is justified! "And, apparently, clowns kill!" Damn straight.
Dear writers: Fire whichever of you thought Dean should say "hell-bent for leather." xoxo, Drew
"Don't be afraid of clowns; they're nice! They're your friends!" Buddy, you're gonna be dead the next time we see you.
"Couple of folks got themselves murdered; cops always seem to start here first." Can't imagine why...
I'm getting the same vibe from the brothers' interaction post-interview that I did in "Something Wicked": anvil, anvil, anvil. I mean, Dean's question isn't a particularly *bad* one, but it feels so blunt and direct and *telling* rather than *showing*. Sam's response isn't unexpected, either -- Dean can see how much John's death is changing Sam; why does he need to ask?
This would be a horrible time to make a "blind man's bluff" joke, wouldn't it? Yeah, I figured. But still, I think the blind guy and Cooper are both red herrings. Why? Because they're BLINDINGLY OBVIOUS choices.
They never think this thing through, do they? If it's a spirit, what makes them think they're going to a) be able to see it and b) show it to others? What if it's something only the girl can see? Okay, nevermind, that question got answered. But man, was I right: they didn't plan for what happened if the thing vanished and the family was there, and the family flipped the fuck out -- AS YOU'D EXPECT.
"I'm okay!" Sure you are, Dean. As clunky as Sam's lines are here, the point is a valid one, I guess. This is just "no chick-flick moments" coming back around again; I don't see why Sam is so surprised. Huh. Well, I'm not sure which of them I believe, now. I guess that's better writing?
...and suddenly it's like nothing happened? Oooookay. "You go check if Cooper's got bedbugs." Okay, fine. Heh.
Okay, so they make up for the blindingly (heh) obvious baddie by offering two potentials at the beginning? That's my read on the fact that this was WAY TOO EASY to guess. Usually there's something that throws me, but not this time.
Naw. NAW. Okay, fine, I like this girl. Most of the girls last season sucked, but the two we've had so far have been decent.
"It's a school in Boston." AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. AWESOME!
Jared, baby, you done good here. No, really. You've even got John's mouth-trembling tics down pat. ♥
And, huh. Well, that's one way to end it. Don't get me wrong, I think it's totally in character, but. Hmm. It just leaves me a little (okay, a lot) unfulfilled.
