Dear Chris Kane,

Why are you so hard to write? No, really. I don't write accents because I tend to suck at it, but the speech patterns you have in my head mean I'm dropping all kinds of adjectives, final consonants, and the occasional verb. I'm not countrifying you much more than the rest of the boys (given that this happens in Texas), so you're going to have to be a little better-behaved linguistically.

with frustration,
Drew

In other news, highschoolery is set to reach 10,000 words (!) sometime at the very end of part 8 or beginning of part 9. I am totally not paying attention to the number of parts because if I think about it too closely I'll realize that this is going to be longer than I anticipate. I should probably figure out where exactly I'm writing this to (i.e. what's the timeline to the projected final part) because an actual day-by-day account of Jared's life would get very boring very fast after the main characters are all introduced. I only know so many ways to get Jared and Jensen to go at it, after all.

I very much do not want this to become the 50 part epic for which the author finishes through part 37 and then stops. So, dear friendslist, consider this an open invitation: you can always ask me where I am with this story in terms of getting the next part out. Ask in comments, email, whatever. Keep me on task! Remix is done, the weddingfic is on hold -- I have no good reason not to finish this story.

PS - why do I not have a Chris Kane icon? Or a Dave Boreanaz one? I should rectify (hee! I said 'rectify'!) that ASAP.

SO! I jumped into a new fandom and all I got was this stupid t-shirt a WHOLE BUNCH OF NEW FRIENDS. But I realized that I actually *know* very few of you new folk, so this is my "introduce yourself" post. Comment and let me know stuff about yourself! I promise not to sell your information to credit card companies.

I'll start.

I'm Drew (not my real name), I'm a guy, I'm twenty-three, I live in the San Francisco Bay Area, and I work for a university -- a major one. I sing a lot, both in professional (SFSC) and amateur (SSC) choirs and in an a cappella group. My voice is really high. No, like, *really* high. I once covered a second-soprano part in my college a cappella group, to give you some idea. I love to cook, and in fact posted twenty-eight recipes (twenty-nine now? I'm not sure) over roughly the span of Thanksgiving to Christmas (click my "food is love" tag). I got a LiveJournal back in May of 2001 (holy shit five years aaaaaaaack) when I was barely nineteen and god are those entries painful to read. Do not, under any circumstances, read any earlier than, say 2003. I wrote some stuff in popfandom and Harry Potter and a couple of one-shots (the Marvel comic "Runaways", Hedwig and the Angry Inch, Ocean's Eleven) and now I'm firmly stuck in Supernatural and WB RPS.

I do not, in any case, have enough time to do all the things I want to do, and this routinely stumps me. A twenty-six hour day would be closer to ideal.
