Once upon a time in LJ land there was a person who found a show called Supernatural. She liked to take screen captures from the show and write things on them in MS Paint; things that she thought were funny. She showed them to her friends and they, being of the same humor type as she, laughed. Thus emboldened, she posted them in every fucking Supernatural image community in LJ land so others could see them. When [others said "oh, but we don't think these are funny" she whined and cried and said "but my friends do!"] which she thought made it all okay. The mod intervened and said "look, leave the poor girl alone" so everyone continued to be subject to "funny" pictures that were not funny.
Until now.
Ladies and Gentlemen, I give you [Drew's guide to making a killfile]. With this handy text, you too can be rid of the aforementioned girl and her "funny" pictures. It worked for me and it can work for you!
A killfile is a modification of your style layer to include a little snippet of code. That code says "never display posts by the users I specify" -- which works even if the user is posting in a community. I would be glad to help out those who are less coding-savvy. Comment to this post or email me for specific help if the killfile how-to is confusing.
