I am 16.66% done with this week's insane Mahler schedule. Admittedly, it was one of the easy days (Saturday is the other), but at least it's done. Rehearsal tonight will be our final dress with the full orchestra and soloists (the soloists kick *major* ass, and I am *thrilled* that the mezzo-soprano soloist is going to be the mezzo for the Verdi requiem in three weeks, since she is the best of all of them), and then we open tomorrow night. Finally! It's weird, because two rehearsals ago, I was confusedly pawing through my music, trying to be in the right spot, and now I'm chomping at the bit for us to just do the show. With any luck, tonight we'll just run the piece and go home. It's long, though, so that's not exactly a picnic.
A huge, huge thanks for the feedback I've gotten on [Decile] -- I had no idea there was such a market for Jensen/JDM. In other writing news, I appear to be three or four scenes away from finishing this other thing (I anticipate finishing the writing this week, then bugging the heck out of
mcee until the editing is done, and posting either this weekend or early next week), and then there's my Mary Sue to start on, which should be great fun (yes, Danny, I'm over a month late starting that).
The day after a three-day weekend usually feels like a Monday in disguise -- with a crowbar behind its back. I'll be over here, staggering under my workload.
