i'm a pixel here, myself

So, for those playing the home game, last night was the first in a series of four shows of Mahler's 8th symphony. I don't know if I have the words for it; it *went*, certainly, but it's such a grandiose piece that descriptions seem to fail before they're even stated. Perhaps the best way I can describe it is this: I had never, before last night, heard audience members shout "Bravo!" immediately following the final notes of a piece. Last night some dozen or more did so. I think the hardest part is getting up the energy to do it again. And again, and again. Four shows, all right in a row. I wish I could have taken today and tomorrow off.

Really, I just kind of want to lie here for another couple hours, not get up and go to work.

Oh my god, you guys, I don't think I can deal with this. Jensen HILARITY from simplybeing. Just. You will be ON THE FLOOR.

Okay, whomever is sending me shit weather? NOT COOL. It is not allowed to RAIN in JUNE. Least of all on a day I have to walk to the train WITH MY TUX.

Wow, I crashed *hard* when I got home. An hour, a quesadilla, and a large bottle of water later, I'm feeling a bit better. Some thoughts as they come to me, since my brain is way scattered.

a. Tonight the orchestra was even LOUDER. And the brass that plays at the very end decided to play as loud as possible RIGHT IN MY EAR. I'm still not back to full ear functionality and it's been an hour and a half. Here's hoping it gets better overnight, or I'm going to invest in an earplug for my right ear. OW.

b. The show wasn't quite as good in spots, was better in others, and got just as many shouts of "bravo". I'll have to check with the guy who was timing the applause to see if yesterday's or today's was longer. Two more shows to go!

c. The fic that must not be named is done its first draft. mcee, I sent it to you by email; if you don't have it by the time you read this, leave me a comment and I will try sending it to you by yousendit, sendspace, or the like.

d. I got my kink/cliché challenge and one of the five prompts is BODYSWITCHING. I am so excited that I can't even tell you.
