First, yet another reason I could never live in the South: [Statue of Liberty reimagined, with cross and ten commandments, in Memphis] (NYT). I'm actually kind of offended by that. And these days in religion-politics it takes a lot to offend me; I have a tendency to roll my eyes and go "whatthefuckever", mostly because it's all so batshit insane. But I now have the deep-seated urge to go to Memphis and tear the thing apart with my own two hands. Talk about perversion of symbols! RIGHT. I did not mean to write that much about this.

In other news, happy Friday! Goddammit. Thursday. My a cappella group has decided to have rehearsal tonight, which is less-than-ideal for me, but I haven't seen them in almost a month, so. It's hard to believe that next week is the Lord of the Rings symphony; we've only had like three rehearsals for it. Fortunately the music isn't hard, it's just annoying for the chorus -- the whole thing reads like it was composed at the piano: full of parallel chords with no voice-leading anywhere in it. It sounds good, though. Mostly. We don't have enough super-low basses (250 or so low D's -- below the bass staff -- in a row!) for the dwarfish chanting, though. Yeah, that's what I said. DWARFISH CHANTING. ::headdesk::

I'm still in the mental "!!!!!!!!!" from the Jquared interview. I just. "Why lock it up when you're at home?" Oh, JENSEN. "If it was as healthy to masturbate I'd rather do that for an hour." Oh, JARED. ::mental wheels a-spinning::

So sevenfists wrote a [prompt thingy] for mcee and me, and I keymashed a bit because holy bejezus with the hot, and we had the following comment conversation:

in forty-five minutes, I will have homemade gingerbread right out of the oven. You all wish you were me. This is all to diguise my exhaustion; don't get too envious.

The timetable for my city move may be changing, but I've got to just Make A Decision and I'm finding that the hardest I've ever found it. This is mostly because the move comes with the necessity of a new job.

My cell is now almost two years old and I just got a "loyalty credit" from Verizon; Saturday may be Drew-goes-phone-shopping day. Does anybody have any hearty phone recommendations? I'm not in the market for a PDA-style phone, and I generally like flip-phones rather than candy-bar ones.
