I really have no way of knowing how the Lord of the Rings symphony is going to turn out until we finally put it together with the orchestra tomorrow; for now I could do without the chanting in dwarfish (which has now been passed on to us tenors, too) or the really high Adûnaic Nazgúl shouting in the sixth movement, but the rest of it sounds pretty good. It's still hard to sing, given the lack of voice leading, but we're coping (in my opinion) admirably. I hope the soprano and boy soprano soloists are with us tonight. It will help give us a better idea of how things fit together before we get whalloped by the orchestra.

And if any of you were hoping for a statement on tinhattery from me, don't bother. It's not even worth discussing.
