Remember my coworker? The one whose roommate was [sleeping on the floor of his office]? I just overheard him say "we have mailboxes?" when our AA told him to go pick up his mail. He's been here for *five months*. Take it from me: you'd think University employees would be smart and with-it, but apparently not. ::facepalm::

In other news, George Allen has conceded in Virginia, giving Democrats control of the Senate (provided Mitch McConnell doesn't try to sweet-talk Lieberman into caucusing with the Republicans). So *this* is what victory tastes like. AWESOME. For those not obsessively following politics, a majority in the Senate, no matter how slim, means a majority on all Senate committees. Democrats FTW!

Still not sure what angle to take on my yuletide story... I want to capture the tone of the source material, but that may be difficult. I will definitely need a beta who is familiar with the source. When I've got something down, I'll post something locked to ask for beta help.

Also: I need a holiday-themed icon. Time to break out the Photoshop and put a Santa hat on someone :D
