a. [livejournal.com profile] yuletide story at 1k words with no end in sight and only six more days to write. Oops. Either that, or I end it where it is now, barely making the word count, and have the craziest final sentence in the history of final sentences.

b. It's not even noon and I've wanted to smack my boss twice. Also, my former coworker, who when she left did not leave me very good documentation. Attempting to use her files is like an exercise in project Russian roulette. If it works, it works. If it doesn't work, it fails spectacularly, taking several datasets with it means I have to keep wading through the swamp that is her old directory. Three more workdays until vacation. I'ma make a macro of that. Or maybe have it constantly in my clipboard for copy-paste purposes.

c. Christmas party this Friday with all my friends and our white elephant exchange. Help me come up with a gift costing less than $10 that will be humorous and useful!

d. There is no (d); I just want to go home. I think I've hit the maximum number of [Jigsaw Sudoku] puzzles a person can reasonably play in a day. If only I didn't find it impossible to write at work...

LJ has changed the posting interface on us, and I do not like it one bit. Give me back my Courier New! I like being able to tell the difference between upper-case i and lower-case L when I'm typing, thank you very much. Also, I like fixed-width fonts for HTML because I can get them to line up. This variable-width nonsense is throwing me off my game.

ANYWAY. I was just IMing with a friend and he asked "what's your Myers-Briggs type?" and I was all "... something something FJ?" Every time I take one of those online tests, I come up with a different result. So you, dear friendslist, many of whom I have known for five years, please tell me what type you think I am. I have provided a link to a page with type descriptions, for your perusal and enjoyment. Then tell me what type you are, or think you are!

Posting from my Mac for the first time with this new interface and I hate it even more -- in Safari, the subject box is two letters wide! Eesh.

So this is really a post of RAGE because I have an Amazon cart with over $125 of merchandise in it (all Christmas gifts for my family), and it won't let me check out. It gets to the "tell us where you want this shipped" page, and when I click on the right address (or enter it again), it thinks for a while and then says an error occurred. I have NEVER had a problem with Amazon before, and it just pisses me off that it's got to happen now. In two more days, I won't qualify for free shipping, which is annoying, but I could deal with it. But if I can't get this stuff before Christmas? I will be MAJORLY pissed. I would have to trek to at least three stores to get that stuff, which is not to say I even *could* get it all (though this being the Bay Area, I probably could if I knew where to look, and looked hard enough), and then I'd have to deal with getting it home with me on the plane.

I hate how dependent I've become on a service I use about once every six months. But I hate more that when it's really important, that service has decided to fuck me over.
