I'm in a weird place. No, really, more than usual. I read one of those stories that was an "everyone gets together with someone" story. It was good, great even, but left me kind of depressed despite the happy ending. I guess it's not a good story if you leave a character in the lurch, wanting to find someone but unable to do so. But it might be more realistic. Also, y'all bandom writers put so much angst into these stories! Most of the bandom stories I've read make you really WORK for the happy ending (because I don't read non-happy-ending stories, for various reasons). Who has happy-ending bandom stories where not every character ends up attached? AUs are double-plus awesome. I like Pete, Patrick, Jon, Spencer, Bob, Frank, and Mikey. In, you know, various combinations.
Rock climbing is fun, even if it leaves your hands sore and your forearms incapable of gripping things for hours afterward. A couple of friends and I have started going regularly; others of our friends go, too, but they're much better so we've started a "newbies club" for ourselves and don't let the good climbers come with us to the rock gym. Which may be petty, but it leaves our egos intact.
The tempest can stop any day now. I'm ready for the dry season.
