I steam-cleaned the carpets today. Ow, my feet. I think I was standing for at least 80% of the day. But the rugs are clean! I swear, I do not understand why my landlord put WHITE carpeting in a rental apartment. Eesh.
Do you ever find yourself reading a story, getting sucked in, really enjoying it... and then suddenly thrown out of it because a character gets too eloquent? I'm talking full-blown multi-paragraph tirades about life, the universe, loving, being loved, etc. etc. et fucking c. When this happens, I have a tendency to eyeroll past it, but sometimes it Just. Keeps. Happening. In these cases, it's almost like I find myself wanting to shake the author by the shoulders and say "REAL PEOPLE DON'T TALK THAT WAY". And yet, we buy it in a movie or on TV, or in a book. I wonder why that is.
( blah blah blah real boys don't return my emails )
