I got a letter from my chorus conductor from college today; he runs a community chorus school and their funding has taken a major hit with the volatility in the market lately. I will probably increase my donation to them this year, as the arts are going to be hit harder than most industries by the downturn.
Anyway, he always sends me a note with their fundraising letter, always handwritten. I miss him. This year's says, "I do hope that you are happy" - my mother said the same thing to me in the phone tonight. Am I giving off Unhappiness Vibes or something? Other than the lack of love life, I'm pretty darn happy. Maybe with all the market uncertainties people are starting to realize that happiness is more important than money.
