Everyone I know is getting married.
That sounds like an exaggeration, but it's not. Not by much, anyway. I just got an email from my college roommate, who is moving to Austin for grad school and getting married next summer. This may mean I'm in Texas in the summer for a wedding. If I got to choose when to visit Texas? Summer would not be high on my list, I'll say that much. I understand Austin is a very nice (and somewhat liberal) town, and I hope he and his fiancée (whom I adore) are very happy there. But... MARRIED? ::sigh:: That will make nine or more of my college friends married by next summer.
And it's not like "call the papers, Drew feels lonely!" because that's not news, it's just true. But. Every time I hear about coupling, either in a "hi, this is my new girlfriend/boyfriend" way or a "we're getting married!" way, the sarcasm gets a little more entrenched, the thick blanket of loneliness gets a little heavier.
Which is absurd, because I'm 24. Behind me: lots of school. Still ahead: life. But when everybody's pairing off, it's hard not to notice. And, maybe, get a little jealous.

And for everybody who doesn't care about my personal problems and would instead prefer boyporn: check out [this item from my RSS reader]. (worksafe...ish. NOT!)

And yes, it is madness. I guess I'm also at that time in my life when the first wave of marriages happen. I hope I'm not hearing about the first wave of divorces in a couple years...
Thanks :)

It's sad and wrong that I'm kindof anticipating the Divorce Wave (TM), isn't it? So jaded, is Amy.

That said, holy crap that guy's tattoos are scary. Why would anybody want that phrase tattooed on them? Doesn't it translate to 'my god, my god why hast thou forsaken me'? Yikes.

Thanks, hon. It's just been one of those days.
