So [livejournal.com profile] poofusgirl located an Angel torrent for me -- but it's almost 40GB. Why? Because it's all five seasons together. I want it! But I'm going to need that external hard drive before I can download it. This weekend I'll make a trip to Fry's, I suppose. Happy birthday to me.

I made cookies, but they're just done now and it's 11. WTF, self? One, then bed.

God, I'm tired. If I owe people email or comments (or return stories!), I'll get to them tomorrow. I just can barely keep my eyes open.
how i feel: exhausted

You should download BitComet... It lets you select what you want to download OUT of the entire file, so if you want to just download the first two seasons or something to tide you over until that external hard drive comes, you can!

also, BIRTHDAY ECHO IS STILL COMING. These past few days have been busy busy. ♥

Azureus and uTorrent let you do this, too -- most of the more sophisticated torrenting programs do, so you could dload a season or so, burn it off, then dload more.

Hey, awesome. I use Azureus, but I didn't know about this capability. I'll look into that.

If you double-click on the torrent in the main window, and open up the tab for that torrent, you can go to the "File" tab, which will list all the files in the torrent. You can highlight the ones you don't want to download, right-click, and choose "do not download." I think that's how it works, based on my admittedly faulty memory. *g* It's a really useful thing to know and use.

I think I can do it when loading the torrent file as well -- which would be good, because when a torrent loads, it first allocates space, and if you don't have the space it'll go kaput while all your space is still allocated! I'll work out the details later, but it's good to know this can be done.

You can set your options so it doesn't allocate space for any torrent until the file is actually downloading. I can't remember where it is in the options, at the moment, though -- will check when I get home!

[livejournal.com profile] elynross says I can do it with my current program, which is awesome, so I'ma try that first.

BIRTHDAY ECHO IS STILL COMING

I await it with open arms! \o/
