I've got to learn to unsubscribe from a couple of my RSS feeds when I go away. I came in to work today and there were 650 unread items in my reader. ::cries:: I blazed through most of them, and kept only about 35 that were too long to read by skimming -- I suppose I'll tackle them this afternoon.

Hi friendslist, it's MONDAY WEDNESDAY, but *feels* like Monday. Don't you hate it when that happens? But tomorrow is Thursday and the next day is Piratesday, so I don't feel *too* bad about that. And it's looking like I only have one rehearsal this week, so I may have time to actually concentrate on, you know, non-music stuff. Of course, given my track record with summers, it'll probably degrade into a whole bunch of video games and not much else. Except the writing. Dammit. Then next week is rehearsals Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, and shows Friday and Saturday and then FREEDOM.

I still have not gotten over the school-perpetuated feeling like I ought to have the summer *off*. It doesn't help that there aren't any students around, which makes the place feel even emptier than usual.

Okay, so it's not even 11 and I'm already digging into my lunch. This cannot end well.

Me too! And it's not for the "JOHNNY!" or "KEIRA!" or "ORLANDO!" reasons everybody else seems to be excited for it -- I genuinely want to know what happens! PotC was genuine fun, but I didn't think it quite the genius everyone else did. Now's their chance to prove me wrong :)

I can SO relate to that. I just came home from the gym, and I had to fight myself not to buy a candy bar on the way home. It was like this moral battle. So I went to the grocery and bought fruit, but I could smell the fried chicken, and I actually LOOKED at it, but convinced myself not to get it.

ARGH. It's like you know you're undoing everything you just did, but you can't stop it.

I will pester you right out of the house, mister, see if I don't! *fierce*

Leftover beef with basil is calling to me. I eat at one; I will be strong. *grits teeth*

::clings to PS2:: You can't tear us apart!

I ate at, like, 10:30. Is 1:30 too early to go get something small? Hmph. ::gets more water::

Just try me. (Unless you've got good racing games, 'cos then I'll just join you. I'd play 'em on t'brother's set but he's monopolizing the games tv with Dark Cloud 2 at the moment.)

I think that depends on your definition of "small."

Sounds like I'm more like your brother :D DK2 is a *great* game. I'm kind of in the middle of Star Ocean: Til the End of Time but I may have to start over since it's been a while and I'm not 100% sure of where I am and what I'm doing.

I've determined that I will try and get through the rest of the day with just water. But if I start gnawing on the desk, I'll allow myself peanut M&Ms.

Dad once watched me playing -- um, I know what the cover looks like in the rack, some racing game where the rules of physics are not so much in effect and the easiest way to make turns is to bounce off the walls (I'm so clearly not a gamer, really) -- for like ten minutes, and then he turned to me and said, very seriously, "please tell me that's not how you actually drive."

You could ration the M&Ms! Like, have four. And then ten minutes later you can have four more, but not before. Savor their candy-chocolatey-peanutty goodness! Of course, I actually enjoy sucking the shells off my M&Ms, so.

The lack of physics in racing games is exactly why I don't play them -- I don't get any feedback from the car/ATV/boat/whatever other than the visual! I need the pull of gravity and the rumble of the engine and all that.

I could, but I would be a better person if I went without them. ::resists::

I think it's a good thing that there's no non-visual feedback in racing games. Otherwise I probably would drive like that. *G* Of course, some days my commute home feels rather like a race -- and there's something askew in the world when a Neon has better acceleration uphill than a brand-new Mustang, lemme tell ya.

Well, hold the idea in reserve in case you do cave.

Holy crap, really? That's... impressive.

Well, that's what happens when you spend all your money on the options and after-market crap that weigh the car down without upgrading the engine first. The basic V6 engine they're offering in base model 'stangs right now does just fine on a base model coupe, but anything else really needs the V8. At least the Mustang put up a fight. It's not even a remotely fair contest when it's some guy with a small penis in a large luxury SUV who thinks he's gonna pass me on the big curve.

My engine may be very, very small, but then so is my car. *G*
